Advait is a ready to wear label with a passion for various surface design techniques such as silk screen printing, tie dyes, Shibori, and digital printing. Our brand aims to be more environmentally conscious with each collection, focusing on garments that are comfortable yet long lasting. We primarily work with AZO free and PCB free dyes for all of our silk screen and digitally printed garments and while working with a close knit team, ensure to pattern cut consciously and save up all our scraps and upcycle them.
Advait was launched by Advaitha Ravishankar, an alumni of the London College of Fashion. Having graduated with a BA Honours degree in Fashion Textiles: Print in 2019 further pursuing a short course in Pattern Cutting for Made to Measure, she is currently based in Mumbai. She has briefly worked at companies such as Fyodor Golan and the House of Masaba which been very influential to her decision making and approach towards textiles.
We pride ourselves on having a personal touch to each print that we create, all of which have been hand drawn and painted and then made cohesive through digital mediums - this gives each of our designs their own distinctive personality and the inability to ever be recreated the exact same again. We believe the most successful way to create a print is to be inspired by everything around us.
All of our fabrics are sourced from reliable manufacturers and are printed and tailored in Mumbai with strict quality control and safe working environments. Our waste fabric after cutting are stored safely in our studio which will then be either up cycled into garments or sent off to be crafted or weaved. All our pigments used while screen printing have been previous excess stock ready to throw away on which we have made colour corrections before proceeding to use them. We believe preserving each piece of fabric and saving each drop of dye to be beneficial to the environment.
We encourage all of our customers to purchase consciously and to keep each piece of clothing for a very long time!
